At Jupiter we are in the business of providing personalized learning assistance through one on one tutoring sessions conducted online.  The advantages of having a skilled instructor available on a regular basis cannot be overstated however there are a growing number of additional avenues students can follow on their own to compliment professional and personal instruction.

The internet is a treasure trove for inquiring minds.  The sites listed below represent the leading edge in online learning resources and they are available to you for free.  All you need to do is follow the links and invest the time.  You’ll find full courses, interactive lessons, tests and other valuable material that can help in a variety of subjects at almost every level.

FREE ONLINE LEARNING RESOURCES

At UCCP Open Access you will find world class University of California college prep curricula freely available to use as supplemental or complementary material. You can easily move through an entire UCCP course from start to finish or focus on specific material as needed.

 

 

 

MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) is a web-based publication of virtually all MIT course content. OCW is open and available to the world and is a permanent MIT activity that reflects almost all undergraduate and graduate subjects taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

 

The Internet Public Library is a global information community that offers a collaborative research forum, and supports and enhances library services through the provision of authoritative collections, information assistance, and information instruction for the public. The IPL staff, faculty and volunteers connect members of the public to high quality information resources.

 

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material, and  provides these as a free service of the Writing Lab at Purdue. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide can find information to assist with many writing projects.

 

Open Educational Resources (OER) is a collaborative collection of educational content free to use or share.  It is organized by subject, level, and type of material.  You can search or browse to find full courses, lessons, supplemental material and more.

 

The Math Archives hosted by the University of Tennessee at Knoxville  provides comprehensive Internet access to a wide variety of mathematical resources including educational software, notebooks and problem sets. It has an extensive collection of links to a wide variety of  mathematics sites.

 

The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere. They have over 800 videos on YouTube covering everything from basic arithmetic and algebra to differential equations, physics, and finance.

The Math Forum at Drexel Univiersity is an online resource for improving math learning, teaching, and communication They  offer a wealth of problems and puzzles; online mentoring; research; team problem solving; collaborations; and professional development.

Kids.gov is the official kids' portal for the U.S. government. It links to over 2,000 web pages from government agencies, schools, and educational organizations, all geared to the learning level and interest of kids.  The site is organized  into three audiences: Grades K-5, Grades 6-8, and Educators, each audience section is divided into subjects like Arts, Math, and History

HippoCampus is a free, public website for High School and Lower-division College Students that offers National Repository of Online Courses (NROC) content indexed to popular textbooks.

 

Stanford University, (as well as many other leading academic and research institutions) has their own channel on YouTube with hundreds of lectures and courses available for free.  They also have a large selection of lectures and podcasts availbale on iTunes for free (iTunes requires a download available free here

The Learning Space is part of the OpenLearn website where you can have free access to the UK’s Open University course materials.  You'll find hundreds of free study units, each with a discussion forum. You may study independently at your own pace or join a group and use the free learning tools to work with others
